We have all heard (and invented) reasons why slimming down isn't possible right now. Wake up foodies, anything is possible you set your mind to....no matter what. My father has been heavy on my mind (as always) but he told me something when I was thirteen, "If you don't like your life, your the only one that has the power to change it". The reality is that healthy eating and regular exercise are not as labor-intensive--or wallet-busting--as we make them out to be.
"I am to busy" I believe is the number one excuse. Lets face it, we are all busy in life sometimes going 100 miles a minute. (or so it feels). But, don't we schedule our kids to practice, our shower before work and when to go to the grocery store? There are simple tips to stay ahead of a busy day. When you come home from the store pre-cut those veggies. Freeze meals that just need to go from the freezer to the oven. (Many of my recipes freeze very well). I try not to use many processed foods, but lets face it sometimes we just don't feel like cooking! Make sure you keep on hand a healthy alternative for those days instead of hitting that drive thru!
"Healthy food is too expensive." Sure I have never seen a healthy item on a drive thru $.99 menu. There are plenty of ways to make healthy food--and your budget--go further. Frozen vegetables and fruits are cheaper and just as healthy as fresh because they're picked at the peak of ripeness. Just the other day while at the store they had a 10/for10.00 sale, we stocked up on frozen veggies.
"Exercise makes me too tired." The more energy you have, the more you'll get done every day! You recharge your body through food, sleep, and exercise. Movement creates energy. It gets your heart pumping, blood pumping, cleans out toxins, and gets your engine started. It also gets confidence levels up so you feel better about yourself.
Don't fall off the wagon, read the blog on commitment also, I feel the bottom line is....keep your head straight and remember why you started this journey!!
